Suddenly, bill pullman is all over entertainment news. While he’s in Brazil making a movie, his 19-year old son’s been arrested (and released, I might add) for some very serious charges to be sure. But you know, it’s so tacky that the media would plaster this not particularly flattering photo of the kid everywhere. He’s not the celebrity (although if the coverage keeps up, he could become the better known pullman in the family). No word about this matter from the big man.

AFP: Lynch’s ‘Surveillance’ wins top prize at Catalonia film festival

MADRID (AFP) — "Surveillance", a thriller by Jennifer Lynch, daughter of legendary filmmaker David Lynch, Saturday won the top prize at the 41st International Film Festival of Catalonia, the organisers announced.

The jury in the Mediterranean resort of Sitges gave the best director award to South Korea’s Kim Jee-woon for "The Good, The Bad, The Weird", set in 1930s Manchuria and which also won the prize for best special effects.

Scotland’s Brian Cox won the best actor award for his role in the American film "Red", while Semra Turan was named best actress for playing a college student obsessed with kung-fu in the Danish film "Fighter".

"Surveillance" is Lynch’s first film since the critically panned and controversial "Boxing Helena" in 1993.

The movie, on which her father was executive producer, stars Bill Pullman and Julia Ormond as FBI agents investigating a massacre.

Just got back. Surveillance was the closing night film of the Dead Channels film fest tonight. Had a great time, the movie was fun, and the audience was cool too.

bp was amazing. Seriously. I’m so thrilled. But, so, anyway, considering who he is in the movie, I don’t know if that buzzcut was quite right for him. He looked cute though. I’m not complaining. I want to see it again!!!

Last night on Leno, we were introduced to the 3 dumbest people in America…

Harmik – Yeah he’s an actor – that guy from Twister. Bill Pullman.

It boggles my mind that people like this walk around every day, and somehow manage not to step in front of a bus.

Variety editor-in-chief Peter Bart, Malcolm McDowell and songwriters Alan and Marilyn Bergman will receive lifetime achievement awards at the Savannah Film Festival, which runs Oct. 25-Nov. 1.

Also at the fest, Bill Pullman will be honored with the award for outstanding achievement in cinema; his pic "Your Name Here" will screen in competition.
