And the Bills jersey for Pullman? “I grew up in western New York,” he says proudly. “And the Buffalo Bills are the one New York football team that does play in New York! They’ve had somewhat of a tragic streak, a terrible winning drought, but I love that their fans have stayed so loyal and things are finally getting better for them.”
Pullman—the son of a physician father and a nurse mom—grew up in Hornell, New York, and, like Bomer, played football in school, as did all of his brothers.

While the talk primarily focuses on The Sinner, actor Bill Pullman delves into his career that will soon be entering its fifth decade.
Happy birthday, Bill Pullman! The Independence Day star turns 66 years old today. Recently, Pullman has received some of the best reviews of his career (and in 2017, his first Screen Actors Guild Award nomination) for his role on The Sinner, the USA Network series that features Pullman as a detective investigating a series of crimes with mysterious motives.
Earlier this year, Pullman participated in a SAG-AFTRA Foundation Conversations moderated by Justine Browning of Entertainment Weekly. While the talk primarily focuses on The Sinner, Pullman delves into his career that will soon be entering its fifth decade.
Harry Dietzler was a personal injury lawyer who worked with Bilott in his class-action suit against DuPont. According to The News Journal, a local paper in Wilmington, Delaware, after the chemical company settled the suit, Dietzler used the money to test everyone who had been in contact with the toxins in the water. Medical examinations found that too much exposure to the chemical was linked to multiple diseases like testicular and kidney cancer, ulcerative colitis and thyroid disease.
Bill Pullman plays Dietzler and spoke highly of his character at the Dark Waters premiere. He said that because Bilott was a big-time corporate lawyer, Dieztler was the local, small-town lawyer they brought in to show the human side of the case. Dietzler had seen the movie before Pullman and said that he really liked it. “He was so glad that he was part of the story,” Pullman told Free Pix Mail.
“I’m proud that this movie got made, and I feel lucky that I was part of it — something to educate and motivate people to do the right thing,” the actor added.
